Ya know, maybe it's a bit too philisophical, but I would think that anyone who lives a lifestyle different from yours would be alternative.
As far as the media goes, or 'alternative lifestyle' on a larger scale I think whoever isn't in the majority is, 'alternative'.

today with media and the internet, there are so many "lifestyles" that its difficult to term one "alternative", save maybe homosexuality or bdsm (odd sexuality). hell you look at fashion now and there is not really a set trend like there used to be either. lifestyles have become more of a market then a trend.

Yeah, what they said: Alternative is anything out of the norm, but with so many "norms" out there, you'd have to be really funky to be alternative. Ten years ago this would have been a completely different subject, seeing as how most of us come from differnt backgrounds and have different lifestyles. As for myself, I'm TOO normal. Boring is more like it.

It's all very vague and open to individual interpretation but i would say any lifestyle which differs from the norm is alternative.

then.. wouldn't there have to be a norm lifestyle?
